Exploring POTA NL-UT part 8: NL-0217 and NL-0196

A short train ride north from the city of Utrecht took me to the train station of Hollandse Rading. From here it is a 30 minute walk to the first POTA park: NL-0217, de Westbroekse Zodden.

Excellent location! A swamp-like landscape with green pastures as far as the eye can see. I found a couple of chairs in the back of a parking space and started operating. The wet landscape seemed to be contributing to the conditions: loud signals and good reports from all over Europe. Worked Finland, Spain and the Baltic states with just 5 Watts. 31 QSO's in just 17 minutes on 40 meters.

After packing up I walked south and arrived at the small village of Westbroek. From there it's another hour to the next POTA park: NL-0196,
Noorderparkruigenhoek. This recreational park is only a few kilometers north of the city but hardly any people around.

It took nearly half an hour to complete 24 QSO's with some nice contacts: CU3DI from the Azores islands on 20 meters and Enno CT7BTL from the south of Portugal on 17 meters.

It took another hour to reach the city where I took the train home. 21 NL-UT parks done, 13 to go!
